The Finance Analyst programme offers a unique opportunity for you to gain both broad and deep experience of the business, with a high level of responsibility early in your career with Morgan Stanley. As an Analyst in Finance, you will have the opportunity to work with industry professionals and qualified accountants in producing daily profit and loss, month-end reporting, and process improvements, as well as resolving queries with the trading desks. You will work closely with the business units and with Operations. The Finance Division consists of three core areas: Corporate Treasury, Tax, and Financial Control Group. Corporate Treasury
Tax Financial Control Group The Analyst Programme in Finance Analysts will be assigned to roles across Finance that best match their skills and interests. Analysts will be provided with classroom and project-based training to provide them with business, technical and professional knowledge. The curriculum for the Programme includes an orientation to the firm, overview of the securities industry, senior speaker seminars, extensive functional knowledge training, accounting and systems training. In addition, the Programme provides development of key personal and professional competencies and social and networking events to build the Analyst's professional network. Analysts are also assigned peer advisors to aid their smooth transition into the organization. Launching Your Career Analysts will undertake tasks such as:
Developing Your Career The Finance Management team takes a keen interest in your progress as an Analyst. During the first two years of your career, we encourage you to further your professional qualifications. Analysts have the opportunity to begin the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification, which is an industry-recognized qualification and take the first module of the Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ) of the Securities Investment Institute. In addition to the professional qualifications, you will be provided with training in how to manage your career and how to develop key personal development skills. An overview of this programme’s objectives and how you can benefit The Finance Industrial Placement Programme is a 48-week Industrial Placement Programme for undergraduates who are completing a four-year degree with a year in industry as a requirement of their degree. The Programme provides in-depth exposure to the finance industry and serves as a pipeline into our full-time Finance Analyst Programme. We provide students with challenging assignments, giving us the opportunity to assess their skills and contributions. The placements will provide students with a thorough overview of our industry, and the challenges and opportunities one can expect from a Morgan Stanley career.
